Biography: Eunha Basu

Eunha is a sophomore at The Winsor School and studies piano with HaeSun Paik at the New England Conservatory (NEC) Preparatory School.

Eunha began her piano studies at the age of four and has enjoyed performing and competing as a soloist since the age of six at numerous festivals and competitions. She has earned top prizes at major international and regional piano competitions, including First Prize at the Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition (NYC), First Prize at the Kaufman International Youth Piano Competition (NYC), a Special Prize at the Ettlingen International Piano Competition (Germany), First Prize at the Chopin International Piano Competition (Hartford, CT), among others, and over a dozen first place wins regionally. Recently, she was a finalist in the 2026 Boston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. She was also selected as one of twenty semifinalists worldwide at the 2025 Cooper International Piano Competition (Oberlin, OH). In summer 2026, she will compete at the Gina Bachauer International Competition in Salt Lake City, UT, as one of thirty pianists selected from around the world. Eunha is a winner of the National Young Arts Competition (2025 & 2026) in Classical Music and a Chopin Foundation Scholarship recipient (2024).

Eunha made her orchestral debut at the age of ten with the Indian Hill Orchestra (now Groton Hill Music Center’s Vista Philharmonic Orchestra) as its youngest concerto competition winner in its history. Most recently, Eunha appeared as a featured soloist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, having won the PianoTexas International Concerto Competition, with the Brockton Symphony Orchestra as the First Prize winner of its Youth Concerto Competition, and with the Nashua Chamber Orchestra as an invited soloist. As a winner of various competitions, Eunha has performed at Boston Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall  (Weill Recital Hall), Van Cliburn Concert Hall, Merkin Hall, NEC Jordan Hall, and the Orvis Auditorium. Her performance has also been featured on WQXR public radio.

Besides solo performance, Eunha has been an avid chamber performer since the age of nine. Formerly, she was a trio member of the award-winning Tercet Trio at the ChamberMusicLab (Rivers Conservatory) for three seasons. Since 2024, she has been a member of NEC’s Chamber Intensive Performance Seminar (CHIPS), a merit-based full-scholarship program. Her current piano trio (Trio Verus) was a quarterfinalist at the 52nd (2025) Fischoff Annual Chamber Competition. Recently, she has been selected as one of three pianists internationally to participate in the fully funded 2026 NEC Summer Chamber Music Young Artist Program.

Eunha is the regional director of The Back to Bach Project’s Boston chapter, an organization that makes arts education accessible to young children through interactive community performances and mentorship opportunities.  She also enjoys volunteering at senior centers, sharing music with residents, and participates in fundraising performances to raise awareness for food insecurity in the community.
